This loop is a fantastic way to experience two of the classic Snowmass cross country trails: Government and Tom Blake. Start your ride in Snowmass Village and head up the summer road on Fanny Hill until you reach the start of the Village Bound singletrack trail. Climb up Village Bound until the intersection with Government trail. Take a left onto Government trail and ride East across the Snowmass ski area through aspen groves and evergreen forests, over streams and stumps until you reach the intersection with Anaerobic Nightmare. Anaerobic Nightmare is appropriately named if traveling up it, but if you’re hopping on the trail from Government, it’s a fun, rooty ride down to the Tom Blake trail. Take a left onto Tom Blake and follow this smooth trail until it intersects at a cul-de-sac road. Take the road until it intersects with Faraway Road and take a left up Faraway Road for about 0.1 miles until you see the continuation of the Tom Blake trail on your right. Hop back on Tom Blake and take it until you reach the lower Vista trail where you’ll head right, down to Snowmass Village.
Free parking is available in the Snowmass Base Village parking structure as well as in the numbered parking lots located between the Mall and Base Village.Map Location of Parking Lot
