West Government Trail is a challenging singletrack trail that traverses across Snowmass Mountain ski area. This trail is the primary connection ride between Aspen, Buttermilk and Snowmass. West Government contains technical switchbacks that may require dismount of the average rider.

This trail is used less often than it’s East continuation of Government Trail. This expert trail offers technical switchbacks with fast riding over changing terrain. West Government Trail provides the option to continue onto Village Bound, Connector Trail, or Cross Mountain Trail.
